Taken from a friend's letter
We have to actually learn some Java stuff to read thru the code to understand the system. One senior project lead / manager was giving the session. This guy is an excellent techie.
He has M.Sc Maths and M.Tech and wanted to do research, wanted to system programming, never ever wanted to be an application / web programmer but ended up here due to family compulsions.
We had a 4 hour session today and i never felt bored. He also said that he likes to code in C, C++ but does only in Java. He was also trying to get some work done to build a framework or library for mathematical calculations to be used in Analytics here but management is yet to agree to that. Every company seem to have ppl matching our frequencies!
Such ppl are called the “inbetweens”, these are unfortunate souls that get trapped in an ethereal plane between Computer Science and IT.
They get trapped due to various reasons, they can see the world of computer science and the true passions in programming through a looking glass but can never touch and feel them. Very rarely we see cases of souls escaping the ethereal plain through something called a vortex of hope that appears once every 3.14159625 years. It is very hard to catch one of these as it can occur anywhere in the plane but the souls cant move beyond the localization maximas of the IT company that they are in.
For the people on the otherside of the glass they never see the ethereal plane, it is as though such a thing never existed, they never realize such good people exists, and on the opposite side, these people are tortured to do the most painful and humiliating tasks and their potentials are never fully harnessed
In the end such people end up as tormented souls that never get enough code to satisfy their hunger to program, they wander in an ethereal plane only wishing a peaceful death and may be in the next instantiation of life they are not pulled into the plane again.
