Almost Anaphylactic Shocked

It almost felt like I had a huge anvil on my chest. I could barely breathe, rolling uncomfortably in my bed, I did not know whether it was a dream or was I really suffocating.

I opened my eyes, I was awake but still could not breathe properly, I managed to pull out of the bed, and get to my shoulder bag. Half awake, half asleep, I did not know which pouch I was putting my hand into. I almost felt helpless, it was as though the air around me was running low on oxygen and with every passing minute it was getting worse. I opened the front pouch of the bag and frantically searched for my Ventolin inhaler. I put it in my mouth and pressed it. The sudden release of the bronchodilator was soothing it felt as though my lung expanded, I took one huge breath it felt good, the air we take for granted, it tasted good.

The recent work on painting the furniture in my house resulted in an adverse allergic reaction. I visited the doctor in the afternoon once I had regained enough strength to go out, my father took me out to see the family friend doctor. And in the mean time, I was itching my eye balls out and the tear glands were all swelled up.

The doctor did a quick check up and no guesses he confirmed it was allergy. When I mentioned about suffocation he quickly asked the nurse to connect me to a Pulse oximeter, the reading showed 93-94 typical value is from 95 - 100. Which means the blood oxygen saturation was running lower than normal. So I was given another bronchodilator through an inhaler for about 15 minutes. After that he prescribed a couple of medications for the allergy and to soothe the eye. And then came the golden advice he said

"Don't go back to the house, go somewhere else, that is the only way you can prevent it from recurring."

I was the happiest person in the world, I always hated the new house my parent bought and this gave a good excuse to slip out of the house at nights.

On our way back, My father and I were discussing the various possibilities of me staying in the house.

Me: Why can't you move the furniture to some remote location and to the painting work there?
Father: That did be too tough, to move, Why don't you take up a room in a lodge?

I was "W T F???", A piece of furniture is worth more than me, that it replaced my place in the house.

Anyway these days I spent my nights programming in my friend's house, better than a lodge, you have free TV and Internet :-)

Corrupt Terminal Fonts

Experienced this corrupt terminal fonts when I was trying to list the contents of a FAT32 USB Drive.

The garbled listing of the files / folders in names got spread to my terminal window too. I was pretty much helpless. Just closed the shell instance and restarted a new one.

Strange Issue, that I am experiencing for the first time.

Just another function call...

Another Glitch in the Call

Did you leave the lists alone?

Hey! Hacker! Leave those lists alone!

All in all, it was, just a pure-LISP function call.

Happy

"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "happy". They told me I didn’t understand the assignment.

I told them they didn’t understand life."

— John Lennon

I guess happiness is not that easily earned, I am getting to understand what he meant.

Honor Match

Lots of swearing about my gameplay and tactics.

Replied by playing a hard support Crystal Maiden and disabled the Nerubian Weaver by Sentry Wards. He was the guy criticizing the gameplay.

Memento Mori

A month ago, I bought this orphaned kitten home.

It was a strange feeling, the kitten could have died, but I gave it a second chance to live on.

My father and I took care of its needs. Feeding milk via a syringe, cared for it. Later on when it started to eat solid food, we would prepare boiled eggs and give it. Overtime, it became accustomed to us. We were its family. Regularly jumping on our feets, climbing the sofas to sit on lap, when we are lying down it used to come to our ears and nibble lightly, bite lightly on our fingers. My father even named it "Kaali" meaning black since the dominant color was black.

Just today afternoon around 2.30 PM it was killed by a stray cat (probably for crossing the boundaries), my father and I were both shocked. I could see the sadness growing in him. He wanted to cry. He was more close to it, since he took care of the kitty when I was not around.

It had disappeared for a moment when the front door was opened, it had gone to its usual play spot and then my father noticed that the kitten was lying near the car porch dead. I went to see if it had any life remaining in it. The pupils were dilated, the neck broken and bleeding. The kitten was viciously bitten to death by another Cat for crossing its boundaries.

My father dug a small grave, while I was still checking for signs of life hopelessly. Finally I had to give in to the fact that the kitten was no more, I grabbed by its legs and slowly placed it in the grave. Then the grave was covered.

The kitten did not have a long life span, even though I saved it from certain death, it was only a matter of time when death wanted to take the life of it, death was waiting for the right opportunity.

Life is so fragile, even though many of us take it for granted, 5 minutes was all it took to change things forever. For one moment it was there and then the next moment its gone.

The Kitten

I almost ran over a Kitten today. It was lying the middle of the road, crying desperately for its mother.

At first I just moved the Kitten to the side of the road and decided to leave, but the cries were just too strong for me to leave it there helpless. So I brought it home along with a computer which I was bringing to make small repairs.

I fed the kitty about 3 cc of milk after which it stopped crying. That is when I noticed that it had also injured its nose and was bleeding slightly. I wiped off the blood and the dirt from its body.

Placed it in a shoe box stuffed with some Kleenex and placed it next to my laptop so that it can remain warm from the heat exhaust of the laptop.

I hope the kitty makes it through the next 4 weeks.

I found this interesting website on care for orphaned kittens.
